Default Toggle switch for Livescope module

For those of you who added a power/toggle switch for the module box on the Livescope system could you share what you used (pics would be great) and any pro/cons. For reference I am hooking up on a 1648 War Eagle with no console so its going to need to be up front in some capacity with everything else.

I don't use a toggle on my system and so far I don't see a need to. I have a small 35AH AGM battery up front that I use for both my Echomap Ultra 122 unit and the Livescope black box and transducer. The system draws very little current when turned off. I've checked my voltage for this system even after 3 weeks of not using Livescope and seen a minimum drop in voltage, in the 0.2 volts range at the most after 3 weeks.

This would be a good time to consider a Perko disconnect switch ...

It would “switch” the LiveScope ... and add a layer of protection for your boat by being able to disconnect power completely from the boat when not in use ...

Generally speaking, a breaker is not designed for continuous switching use. Can it be done? Sure, but its not recommended.

You could do that and it would work, but I wouldn’t recommend it for this reason. Breakers have a spring to cause them to open when the bimetallic gets overheated then spring is released to trip. You start tripping and resetting it’s going to cause internal wear and weaken parts which could cause premature tripping over time. And if I’m not mistake they recommend not using them for a switch.

After reading Roy's comment I may just see how it goes without using one at all to start. I can always add one later if need be. Now I just need to find some time to get this thing completely installed!!

Or better yet, Charlie, my mom and dad are about to head this way from Olive Branch so I can have them just swing by and pick you up. I am pretty sure you could have it all completed by this afternoon!!

If they could have me back by morning I might just jump in and come up there. Guarantee we would have it up and running
