Helix 5 vs Helix 7 Mega????
Ok, guys/gals I have a question for you all. I have a Helix 5 DI GPS G2 but I am also looking at a Helix 7 MEGA SI, MEGA DI, GPS, G3. My question is this - Is the MEGA worth it? Thanks for any help you all can give me.

What he said! The Mega units are awesome BUT screen size is really important, espically when looking at side imagining. IMO a 7" screen is just too small to see the detail you need to see, maybe it would be ok if you just used side imanging on one side for the whole screen and didn't expand your range out very far. I would consider buying a larger used unit before buying a 7" unit.

I had a helix-5 at the gen 1 stage . put a helix -9 SI on the back and a mega chirp 7 on the trolling motor . I mainly need the one on trolling motor for pulling cranks/ spider rigging routes . If that is the main purpose it is fine . Bigger is always better however if you go up the 9 is easier to see . I have never used an . 8 . I would chose the mega chirp 7 to answer your question .
