    Default Mega 360 release delayed


    BBG Marine just announced on their Facebook page that the release date for the Mega 360 is now pushed back to late January. Probably same for the Y cables release also and for the Helix models using the Mega 360 you will need a software update for helix G3N 2.130 of which is not also released yet and for Solix G2 you will need software 3.520.

    Well, I hope the dealers get the Y cables to send us and we get a software update to run the Mega 360 when we get it.

    Just got a email from Brian of BBG Marine, my ordered Mega 360 has shipped but the Helix Y cable is backordered. No biggie as will use the Y cable when I get it. Always great service from BBG Marine!

    How does Mega 360 compare to the Panoptix system? I have a Helix 12 Mega and would love to use it to get a similar picture as the Panoptix.

    In my opinion, they are 2 entirely different systems. Panopix or Liveview is live and looking at what ever it’s aimed at, where Mega 360 is the side imaging transducer spinning like radar giving you a picture of your entire surroundings out to couple hundred feet max and fish in it. I don’t have any garmin products but here is what you can read and see about mega 360 of which I like to use.

    And now the same discussions - “which is better - 360 or LiveScope” ...

    As time advances, this discussion will eventually lead to the same conclusion - you need both ...
