    Default Linking two Garmin

I just got my new 93sv for the front of my boat, I have 73sv at the console. I have never linked two fish finders before so need some input. I really only want to share waypoints between units. What do I need to do this, also anything else that would help me out.

Check the manual to be sure, but on mine you just connect the blue wires to the brown wires on the power harness to network them.

youll need a crossover network cable (rj45 ends). to do it the garmin way youll want to buy their cable, but if youre handy or know an IT guy they can make you one. I personally would use a cheap cable to make sure it all worked before I bought the Garmin ends.

Add to that, both units have be the same series.

SV to a SV+ is a no go.

Each series uses a different pathway.

Mine are both plus units. Manual clear as mud to me. What I do get is that connecting the blue and brown wires doesn’t work with plus units. ?? Sorry I know this is probably simple thing to do but I just don’t get it. hambandit do I just connect crossover network cable to the nmea connection on both units?

    Yes

Garmin changed it between the Echo Chirp and the Echo+ models.

I think hambandit is correct on the cable with the RJ45 ends. These will connect to the ports labled Panoptix on each unit.

If you decide to add Livescope later, you would need a GMS10 hub and connect both graphs and the Livescope to the hub with the RJ45 connectors cables.

    Good Luck

Thanks MikeF. I guess I will just leave them alone I have livescope ordered so not willing to spend another 200+ dollars on hub to connect the two units just to share waypoints. Thank you and everyone for all the help.

    Yeah, I hear you.
Only so much money to spread around.

Won't help on the water so much, but you can switch sd cards and merge the data so the waypoints are on each graphs.

Fishing and boats area never ending money monsters. LOL

If i understand it correctly you can share waypoints from one unit to the active captain app on your phone...then you have to disconnect the phone from one to the other and can transfer waypoints doing that...??
