I made my LS system portable so I can use it either on my boat (2016 Ranger Reata) or on my local enclosed fishing docks. As long as the other boat has a 1.5” Ram ball (preferably in the bow), I can attach my transducer pole to it using the RAM arm I use to attach it to my boat and we’re fishing. (Note: I obviously don’t have the transducer installed in the pic; I was adjusting the length of the pole.)

I made a mount from an old tm clamp on mount for my jon boat and the electronics are stored in a box like what has already been seen.

Then I made a stand so the screen would be in arm's distance.

Everything works great on the jon boat but I was still trying to figure out how to put the unit on my skeeter without drilling holes. The clamp on mount works great on the jon boat but is a no go on the big boat. I still needed a way to swap the transducer but I wanted it on it's own pole so it would act independently of the tm. What I came up with wasn't swapping the poles between boats but making a separate system for the skeeter. Even though the poles are different clamping the transducer from one pole to the other and wrapping with electrical tape takes very little time.

It would be very easy to make this mount a part of the tm and use the tm to scan with but as I said earlier I want to be able to scan without moving the tm. My new mount is basically a 1 1/4" inside a 1" so it will pan however, it pans a bit too easily. To remedy this I added bushings that are snug in the 1 1/4" but is just friction tight on the rotating 1" shaft.

Have not tested it and it may be a total flop but in theory it should work and best of all I can swap between boats and no drilling in my big boat needed.

Size: 135.4 KBI used a pelican style box from harbor freight. Didn't install an internal battery, use a dedicated group 27 battery in the boat corded to the unit with a trolling motor receptical. Used oar mounts for a kayak to hold the fishing specialities transducer mount. Didn't really build it for portability as much as being able to remove it for security.

I've my setup so far. Ram mount clamps on top rail of my jon boats. Ball on the Plano box loosens/tightens with a twist and let's me mount the xducer so I can put it on the deck of most boats or the dock.

Take a look at Greg Finn's videos on Youtube. He owns and operates camoriver guide service on Lake Fork, TX. He has a video of how he made his livescope mount out of a ratchet like those used on the boat jack on a boat trailer tongue. I think you can find the video under camoriver guide service videos on youtube. It's the video on "Introducing LiveScope."

I had mine in a milk crate, with powerpole connectors on the power, so I could unplug and move between my Alweld and my kayak. This was such a hassle, I ended up buying another PLS system for the kayak. Its only money <ducking>. My investments have been doing very well.

That's the exact set up I have, the only difference is I am using 2 - 12V/7.5 Ah batteries to power my system.

I use the Apache boxes from Harbor Freight and 2 of the cheap game camera batteries from Walmart. I have the transducer on a fishing specialties mount.

Nice setup! I pulled all of the foam out of the box to allow the sonar module more area to displace heat, also allowed me to coil all the cables inside the box with just enough outside to reach the tranducer mount. How much run time do you get with the batteries?

I have ran it for 7 hours straight and still showing 11.4 volts when I turned it off. I would suspect 9-10 hours of continuous use before it shuts down. I have read that adjusting the backlight on the 93sv will help with battery consumption but so far I have kept mine on 100%.
