Who cares what that thing is if there are no fish around it, what was happening is I was so intent on the object that I did not pay attention to the rest of the screen.
After that I set up my depth finder totally different then what most recommend, as I do not care about a pretty picture I run my scroll speed faster so any fish marks get elongated and makes them easier to see. I will also keep up my enhance menu up at all times so I can adjust from soft to hard bottom or depth changes I never just turn it on and leave the same settings all day. Once I find fish then I will swing back around, slow down scroll speed and figure out why those fish are there.
