    Default Humminbird Transducer Adapter Problem

Just purchased a new Helix 9 Chirp MSI GPS G3N unit. Also got an adapter to install the mega transom transducer on my Terrova trolling motor. Started the installation of the transducer on the Terrova and discovered that the adapter for the transducer would not work correctly. When trying to mate the adapter to the transducer the adapter will not lay flat against the transducer due to contact with the cable coming out of the transducer body. About a eighth of an inch gap there. They sent me a 740181-1 adapter to use with the mega transducer. I looked at the Humminbird site and it looks like I need a 740182-1 for that transducer. Has anyone else encountered this problem? I want to be sure of what I am seeing here.
