    Default Lift assist removal Terrova

Anybody have experience in removing the lift assist on a Terrova? Looking at a new Terrova and getting the Cornfield crappie 360 mount. I am thinking that with both I will not have enough shaft in the water and also the head of motor would be setting up so high it would be in the way of the rods for spider rigging. Thanks

Isn't the lift assist part of the steering collar?

It can be removed. I haven’t removed one but know a couple of guys who have. Looks pretty simple.

It is simple, I took mine off. Just disassemble. Just watch the coil in the lift assist. It will spring out and cut you if you aren't careful.

Do you have to take the head off to slide off the shaft??

I removed the lift assist from my terrova 45” because I didn’t want the 60” laying across the bow. Pretty simple removal

Old thread, but I have a question. Will the Terrova motor work correctly if the entire lift assist box was removed and left off?

    Thanks,

Just a quick question, why would you buy this motor over a Ultrex to start with. Loooking to purchase a new motor.
