    Default Max LED run

    Hi
I'm adding 12 volt LED lights to the exterior of my boat for night fishing.
I was planning on connecting two , 15 ft wires together to create a 30ft run, off one switch.
But the instructions said to limit a circuit to 15 ft.
So, do i need to an independent 2d circuit or does the stated limitation refer to using a transformer as with 120 v AC current?
My plan was to use existing wiring that runs from the helm switch to the front Red/Green night incandescent running lights.

    12 volt, 300 LEDs in a 15ft run

Its LEDs, how much current are they really pulling?

    Thanks

I’ve got the red and green navigation lights on my tracker but I’ve got them on a separate switch that I can turn on and off

I don’t know how much they draw but it’s not supposed to be much. But if it was mine I’d run a septet set of wires for those lights just because that’s how I like to wire things. You can get to much pulling off one small wire. I would tie both to one switch though. I think what they are referring to is don’t wire another 15 foot run to your first 15 ft run. That wiring is so small it probably would have some voltage drop if you added the other run.

    Thanks everyone,
After sleeping on it, i decided to just run red and green off the helm switch.
Ordered pushbutton switches for the others, taking power off the trolling motor wiring.

    Should be ok.

I have them all over my boat. Down the sides, all the compartments, and on the back near the engine. I just ran multiple wires off of the switch. Works with no problems.
