    Default Minn Kota is slower

My Ulterra is two years old and I love everything about it but spot lock. My current issue is that it is taking more power (higher numbers on the remote) to move the same speed. I have new batteries in the remote, all current software updates on the Ulterra and remote, and the trolling motor batteries test out excellent. Any ideas?

I would start by checking all the connections on motor cord to plug, then wiring connections from batteries to plug on dash, then connections on all wires at batteries. Sounds like your losing some voltage some where. Also pull head and check those spade connectors under ther. They can loosen up from heat over time. Another thing if you don’t find anything obvious would be bypass circuit breaker and go straight to battery. That way you can eliminate breaker as the problem or find it is dropping voltage.

You've probably already done this, but also check for fishing line behind the prop.

Line around prop shaft or bent prop pin.
Trolling motor battery is weak (only takes one), they may test out good but be trash.. I had that issue. Autozone swore the battery was fine, I demanded a replacement and never another issue.
Also could be water in your motor housing.

    I'd bet on battery.
