    Default Xi 5 turning issues

    Hi
My xi5 is responding much slower turn to the left.
Batteries are new, turns to the right like it was new.
    Using hand held remote.

    Suggestions?

    Thanks

My xi5 started doing all kinds of crazy things. The problems were intermittent and across the many different functions. Turned out my remote was shot. Now I keep 2 remotes on the boat.

Did you try a battery change in the remote? Causes mine to do goofy things when the batteries are low.

When my xi5 started going crazy the first thing I did was change the remote batteries. Some functions would work properly and others would not and then later during the day all functions started working. Next fishing trip everything would be going haywire again. After two trips to the Motorguide repair man he said motor was testing good and suggested I get a new remote under warranty. I did and trolling motor has been running fine ever since. I know trolling motors can and do play out but I'm hoping your issue is the remote.

Brett, I use Lithium batteries in my thermal monocular. Thermals are power hogs. They definitely last longer in that application. And yes my xi5 remote is running lithium batteries.
