Default Battery bubbles out of the top while charging......????

Anybody have any idea why this would occur? It's a West Marine 15 amp charger, hooked to a 24 size battery. New battery and charger.

My guess is too hot of a charge. Maybe put it on a 5 amp and see what it does.

Probably a shorted cell or the battery is low on electrolyte or completely shot. Unless your charger is broken, it only supplies 15A early in the charge cycle when needed.

Too much water in the battery will cause that also.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

After 20 years of working on battery powered machines, my personal experience is that is a shorted cell 95% of the time.

Thank yall for the replies. I told by brother to replace the battery first, AND then the charger.

This happened to me. Dead/Short cell in the battery. Had to get a new one. My Minn Kota trolling motor did not like it and would not fully operate.
