My 597ci DI transducer broke loose and dragging it around before I figured out there was a problem has stared to pull the cable out of the transducer housing. It's a good little unit but the cost of a new ducer would go along way towards a new comparable unit. I found a new ducer Xnt 9 Di T from HB for $110.00 but not sure if I should just upgrade to something else.

I’m like Rickie, those are good units and if your happy with it then keep an eye on bbc. Most new units in same size today aren’t as good as that unit in my opinion. And anything any bigger 100.00 won’t hardly get you started.

I'd personally upgrade. The helix 5 di gps g2 would be the comparable unit. Chirp sonar, auto chart live, faster processor and quicker map loading. Still 480p but 800x480 wide screen instead of 640x480, makes split screening much easier to see. New warranty of course. And 597 head units are selling for roughly $180 on ebay. New helix 5 di gps g2 are $350 msrp with a $50 rebate until the end of the month.
Lonnie. I have a 587 ci,di that I took off to upgrade last year. Not sure if the ducer is compatible but youre welcome to the whole package if you want it for the cost to ship.
