See, that's the thing, the one on your 10 is the exact same one to be used for the 8, I'm afraid there's going to be a lot of extra material there. I guess we'll see what Hocky says about it since he's putting it on an 8.

I got the new cover for my Helix 8 and I am really pleased. I ordered the large cover from ripalip.com and this size fits from 8" to 12" units, so my unit is on the small end for this cover. The cover is well made and should do a nice job of keeping the unit out of the elements when the boat is in tow. The velcro straps fit nicely under the unit to hold it in place. For my 8" it is not a perfect fit and there is a bit of slop in it, but that is not a big deal for me. I knew it wasn't going to be a perfect fit. It will do what I need it to do and it looks pretty good.

With the slop, is the material heavy enough that it's not flapping around when towing down the highway? I assume the inside of it is a good soft material?

I'm just afraid the slop will cause the paint on the buttons to wear off quickly, or scratch the screen.

    Thanks for the followup!

The material is a good heavy material. The Ripalip site says they make if from the same material used for snowmobile seats. The inside a a nice soft material. I am not worried about the wind moving it around that much. The windshield protects it pretty will.

Not sure why this is happening, but the images are being rotated.

Even tho I love my birds, it’s a dang shame after spending the big bucks for a 7 or 8 they can’t throw in a cover and then clip you another 40-50 bucks for their rubber cover or the cost of a off brand. I bought a new g3n 7 and then had to buy the rubber cover on the side like you having to buy a cover for your 8. Humminbird does provide the screen overs for 9 and above.
