Default Livescope spider rigging- pole vs trolling motor mount?

Opinion? Im currently running an older auto pilot with co pilot. No spot lock for now. Who's tried both?

Trolling motor mount moves the transducer too much, in my opinion. I use a separate transducer mount called the Da Ducer from Podunkideas.com. Penultimate platform.

My fishing partner uses a separate pole, having it on the trolling motor would render it MUCH less useful.

I think it all depends on the style of trolling motor and its use. On a manually operated one like the MK Edge, which is what i have, it works great on the motor shaft. It is hands free so i can have a pole in each hand. Plus less stuff/clutter mounted on the boat deck. Now with spot lock and auto pilot engaged I would think it would be terrible on the shaft.

Yes, I agree. Guess I assumed everyone was blessed with spot lock (smile).
