Default Best Budget Unit For Crappie?

I'm looking into putting a unit on my boat, I've never owned one and have fished without one since I got my boat 3 years ago. I do alright on catching crappie but do move around a lot and use navionics to get a idea of the depth I'm fishing. But don't really know which unit would be the best for just crappie fishing. Which is better di or si for locating structure and bait? Really don't want to spend over $500 on a unit. Would like some of you guys opinions on this.

Good simple unit for a beginner. No map card capibility but has a base map you can mark waypoints and be able to go back to them. Pretty clear picture and sure better than what you have now.

Check with our sponsors. They are very knowledgeable and usually beat the big box store prices.

Alright guys I'll give it a look, really don't care for the maps but itd be nice to have them. Like I said I've fished without one this long so anything would be better than nothing. All I want is to be able to find structure, shad and suspended fish. Any other time of the year itd be hard to find them without a unit. But in the spring when they get right off the banks on downed trees I just work the banks and find them. But would like to learn to fish for them year round. And gotta have a unit for that. Thanks for the suggestion I'll definitely give it a look.

Helix 7 is a good depth finder if you can swing it make sure and get SI makes finding fish and structure so much easier.
