I glued mine with five minute epoxy and bought a spare to keep in boat went ahead and ran cable to back of boat and wrapped in plastic bag, will just take as few minutes to replace when glued one fails.
Looking for help on the best way to repair this. Ignore the fishing line. Long story.

I glued one like that several years ago. Used super glue and it lasted a lot longer than I expected.
Here is what I use. Bevel edges and clean according to instructions. I use 3 thin layers expanding each layer.

Thanks for responses. I had considered beveling for more contact and using the heavy duty 3M stuff. And as crazy as it sounds cinching down a small radiator clamp and the glueing it also

What Cray said. Other than that, I don't know.
But I would like to hear the fishing line story.....

I repaired one with 30 min.epoxy,it held a few years until I bumped it
When I would get up plane the transducer would come up and smack the transom. Sounded like a rod knocking. The fishing line was the first thing I could get my hands on to tie it up. Went through Lowe's and found a plastic fuser.
