I haven't seen the units yet but I assume the bail mount will be similar to the echomap series but stronger. I've heard some time in April they would be ready to ship.

I don't believe that is possible without using the Garmin Homeport software program. You can record to a 4GB SD card but then you may need to manage the waypoints with the Homeport system. You may want to call Garmin CS to be sure. Brian
