    Default Heading indicator issue

When I installed my new Helix 10 with an external gps puck and heading sensor, I put it where my old 999 puck was. Of course the old one did not have a heading sensor. The Helix will show the arrow for my heading correctly with the boat showing at about a 45 degree angle, not in line with the arrow. Tried to align it according to manual to no avail. Had a guy tell me it was interference from being too close to outboard motor. Has anyone else seen this? Should I move from current spot to corner away from motor as shown in picture? Wanted to ask before I drill two more holes! Name: IMG_1137.jpg

Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

Use a small handheld magnetic compass to check the spot for interference ...

You can get a compass in the camping section of Walmart ...

Mine does the same. The arrow on the boat icon is just a tad to the right of the bow of the little boat. I checked the area where it is with a compass and all was good. I just figured that’s how they were.

If it is just off a little, have you tried the alignment in the manual?
