    Are there any advantages of running a Navionics chip in a Humminbird Helix 7 fish finder over just using the Base Map that is factory installed?
    I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

    It depends on the waters you fish and then comparing the two. You can view the current Navionics coverage by looking at their website under Chart Viewer tab. Also, there was a newer update to the basemaps provided for units in July 2017. There was a lot of additional coverage added.

    Might want to check Lakemaster for the lakes you fish in my areas Lakemaster covers more lakes then Navionics in high def.
