    Default Livescope and long lining?

I read on crappie.com, somewhere, that a guy said he could see his jigs while pulling jigs with his livescope. I have looked and looked but can't find the post and can't remember who posted it. I just got mine and haven't had much time to play with it but I have not been able to find my jigs while long lining. Looking for some advice if whoever posted that happens to run across this thread. Thanks.

Yahoo! Did you have it set on any "special" settings to find them? Roughly how far behind the boat were the jigs? I turned mine around but I never could find the jigs.

Why do you want to find your jigs when longlining?

I've read where someone posted they could see their jigs 65 feet behind their boat, all I can say is wow. Seems like a long way to see a normal size crappie jig, I'm assuming a 1/16 oz, or even tandem jigs. I love to see a short video or picture.

Not saying anyone is a lier but you would have to be pretty good to do it i would think. Probably can be done in perfect conditions though. I have problems getting an 1/8 oz to show up 10 feet away sometimes but a lot of user error also I'm sure.

    Default It works for me!

Well, I am the one that posted that! I run jigs that far back when fish are deep and I have to get down to them. I change lengths of line all the time and change speeds to see what the crappie are wanting at time when water temps are below 55 degrees. I really don't take time to make videos when I fish but I made one when I had then 40 ft behind boat and will try to upload later. Yes, I play with the settings to get good picture and sometimes you have to move your jig to see it. The only thing I have done right from start was change the Auto depth and Auto range from on to off. Change Gain to Auto High, Med, Low depending on water quality. Set your range to trolling length and depth to the depth you want to look at. If you don't run auto gain, set your gain to where it is little grainy and be sure to check the Noise rejection setting, if this setting is too high it will make seeing your jigs hard. If you have changed a lot of settings, go back to the default settings and work from there. Also, be sure you have the latest firmware update!
I am running Echomap Plus 93 SV. All in all, it works pretty good for me!
