If it is wired per your drawing and if the switch is an on/off switch that is functional, it should work. The second light would need to be wired in parallel to the “front” light.

I am redoing all the wiring on my little boat and I have everything figured out except for one thing. I can't seem to figure out how to add a second light on the scenario in the picture below. I can get the light to come on but it stays on and doesn't turn off when I turn the switch off.

Splice into the red wire anywhere between switch and light and black wire anywhere on it.

Yon might have something else going on too with the switch not turning the light off -- My old Bow Light had two black wires into the light -- the major difference being the Ground wire also made contact with the casing and the ground .. on an aluminum hull if those wires are crossed the switch will have no effect if it happens to be on the ground side
