I have them both and don't see the money value in the view difference, there are some advantages in the mega if your a guy/gal that is way deep into your electronics.
Do you guys think there is that big of a difference in the clearness or sharpness of the DI/SI images in the Hummingbird Helix chirp models versus the new Mega chirp models.

There's probably a more noticeable difference in the Dual Spectrum CHIRP sonar performance but several have posted images in other forums showing some difference in the SI/DI. If I were able to buy a new unit I would select the G3N model just for the improved sonar performance.
There's a difference. Another advantage is the new Mega transducer now available in MinnKotas. Only Mega units will work with this transducer to give you down imaging instead of just 2D with the old built in US transducers.
