Default HUMMINBIRD FISHFINDER SET UP ADVICE

Looking for advice from others who have experience with Humminbird depth finder set ups. I am considering a Humminbird 10 CHIRP Mega SI GPS G3N (not sure if the G2N is still available and if so, the difference between the two) to be mounted at the console of my boat and a Helix 10 CHIRP Mega DI G3N on the bow. I plan to interlock the two units together. Looking for opinions, suggestions and advice from others before I start. I want to make sure I do it right the first time.

If you are going to link the 2 together all you need is 2 ethernet adapter and a ethernet cable.

What trolling motor do you have, and is there an I-pilot in your future?

I have the same setup, but id put the 12 at the bow and 10 at the console. You spend way more time fishing at the bow. Linking is a must if you use way points

Lots of options and easy to expand in the future when / if needed - For me it's become a money pit to dump $$ into, cables, adapters, options, etc.. but after all
    "BOAT" Break Out Another Thousand
The Helix units require Ethernet adapter cables then a single Ethernet cable between the two lets you share waypoints / transducers, etc.
Anything additional you will need an Ethernet switch - Humminbird 5 port
Ethernet connection enables the i-Link communications with the fish finders
NEMA2K Buss adapter and possibly a cable on the motor - If you want to see your big engine data on the fish finders
    360 system requires Ethernet connection

Heading sensors and remote GPS antennas do not use the Ethernet - instead the serial port

I think Rickie was probably headed in this direction but if you have a Link model and want to network it to two fish finders, then you need an Ethernet Switch. Also need a ethernet cable and adapter for each fish finder. Would need to run ethernet cable from each FF and the TM to the ethernet switch.
