Default Garmin Echomap Plus 73sv vs. 93sv

I plan on making the trip to Bass Pro tomorrow evening to buy a new Garmin Echomap Plus fish finder. I have a small jon boat type of boat. I sit at the stern with my tiller 10 horse motor and trolling motor. I like to long line. I don't have a lot of extra room for things so I was planning on getting the 73sv. Will I be disappointed with side imaging on a 7 inch screen? It will be very close to me.
Thanks USMA65 thanked you for this post

I've had a 73SV on my boat for a couple of years. Really like it. Bigger really is better, but the 7" does a good job. I work at BPS selling electronics. You better check with your local store to find out how many units they have for this sale. At mine, we have plenty of 93's but not very many 73's.

I did email them because it's an hour and half drive and they said they have 50 of them.

Bigger is better. 7 inch is the bare minimum I reccomend more side imaging. The 7 inch I'll do fine for your application but 9 will be better. At $100 difference I would consider the 9 inch if you got room.

I have both units. 7" at the bow with livescope. 9" at console. I can see both just fine, and I'm not missing anything with the smaller screen. But I also can see to tie a knot.....lol

Get the bigger screen if you can. You won't regret it.

With the sale Bass Pro is having, if at all possible, I would spring for the 93sv. Every inch of screen matters with SI, in my opinion. The 73 will work for sure, but you’ll be thankful you went with the 9” if you do.
