    Default Lowrance Transducer Question

Hello all, I am new to the forum as a member and hope to be on here a lot learning for you all! I have a question concerning Lowrance units. I currently have a HDS Carbon 7 at the console with a TotalScan transom mounted xducer. Love it! I am wanting to buy a HDS Carbon 9 to replace the 7 at the console and move the 7 to the front of the boat where, obviously, I do all the fishing. I will network the two with an Ethernet cable to share waypoints. But, my question is what xducer can I use up front instead of getting readings from behind the boat while I’m fishing? Thank you!

    Default Lowrance Transducer Question

You can select what transducer you want active at the head unit via enabled ethernet.

    Add a xducer up front.

Yes, but I think you may have to buy a special adapter to attach ducer to motor since it’s so long

If you do not want side imaging up front you can also go with a hdi transducer. It does down imaging and 2d sonar. I personally have one on my trolling connected to my hds7 gen3 and a lss1 connected to my gen2 at the console and really like the setup.
