Default Problems with a Lowrance unit

I have a Lowrance hook seven that is at least a couple of years old. The pictures on the conventional screen look pretty good. However, the down image pictures or images are really bad. Recently, I was sitting on a large brush pile and the down image page did not even show the structure. In addition, when you move beyond fifteen or twenty feet deep the DI bottom image almost disappears. I have tried zooming in and other manual adjustments, and there is no improvement in the DI images. Someone suggested it could be transducer problems affecting the down image only. I don't think it was an issue with the installation because it worked well for at least a couple of years. The employees at Cabellas suggested the unit needed a software update, however they could not do the upgrade. Tried calling Lowrance's call center and they are really not much help.

Look at the reset procedures. That sometimes cures a lot of problems.

I had a problem with my SI image on my HDS 7 yesterday on the water. I spent about 30 minutes on the phone with Lowrance tech support and they solved my problem. I've had to call them a couple of times over the years when I encountered a problem while fishing and every time they got me going and saved my trip.
Best thing is you are on the phone with them while you are using the unit on the water so everything happens in real time so you know when it fixed.

My problem was a doozer. I bought a new boat last year and moved my HDS to it but hadn't installed the LSS2 SI transducer. Took boat out yesterday and DI worked fine but when I tried to change view to SI I got the screen shown here. Live Scope! Never had seen that before but that's all that would come up. He walked me through a soft reset so I didn't loose all my data. Name: 20190206_125804_HDR.jpeg
