    Default Confused by Network Settings

I networked a Helix 10 Gen2 to my older Humminbird 898. There is one transducer and it is for Helix. Everything I read said how easy networking was, just connect the two units with the proper cables. Then I discover there is a network manual that is about 40 pages long. I realize most of it does not apply tp my network. But, I read that I have to turn CHIRP off on the Helix in order to have data on the 898. So, in Network Settings I turned CHIRP off. Guess what. I have no Down Imaging or Side Imaging functions on the Helix. What good is that? Anyone?

    Which HELIX 10 G2N is this ...??

CHIRP is turned off in the "CHIRP Configuration" Menu under the Setup tab ...

Then you should be able to share 2d and SI ...

Dedicated DI from the HELIX xducer will not be shared because the 898 is incapable of dedicated DI ...

Thanks for reply. In turning CHIRP off I had read the Networking Manual and I called Humminbird. Their rep had me go to the Network tab of the Menu and un-check the boxes for CHIRP Down and side imaging. I will turn them back on and go to Configuration in the Setup tab as you said. I was wondering about the 2D, and you have answered that. Can't thank you enough for all of your help. I will post back with results when I get boat back in the water--might be a few days (rain, rain and more rain).
