Default Adding another Humminbird Helix to my boat and I have a couple of questions

I have a couple of questions and looking for advice on Humminbird Helix si/di graphs. I just picked up a helix 10 mega si grn 2 to go with my helix 10si grn 1. The mega will mount to the console with the other moving to the trolling motor. I would like to hear some input on connecting the two via Ethernet. All I want to share is map marks and nothing else really. If I’m correct a Ethernet adapter and cable is all I need to accomplish this hookup?
The second question is regarding adding a external gps puck to the unit on the console. I want to mount the external closer to the transom where the transducer is located for better precision. Is this a plug and play for the gps? Any advice or input would be appreciated. Thanks guys and gals.

To connect 2 head units you will need ... :

2 AS EC QDE adapter cables ... (1 for each head unit) ...
    https://humminbird.johnsonoutdoors.c...-adapter-cable

1 Ethernet cable long enough to reach between head units ...
    https://www.humminbird.com/Freshwate.../?facets=7319,

MEGA can share with HELIX g1 - waypoints, accessories, fixed frequency Sonar (CHIRP must be shut off the MEGA unit to to share any sonar) ...
    -----

An external GPS antenna plugs directly into 1 head unit (and can then be shared over Ethernet if desired) ...

Check out Rickies web sites he has a way to put the transducer up front that is better than mounting it on the trolling motor

Can you just use 1 gps puck and share data like that on the older core units like a 1198 & 898?

If you put the puck on the bow and your transducer is at the transom, which one will put you on the waypoint?

Whatever you mark from the transducer will be off the distance between the puck and transducer if sharing the puck between 2 units because they both will have the same coordinate. On my setup the 898 and Helix are located at the console sharing an external puck close to transom transducer, the unit on the bow has a separate puck.
