Default Which card for screen shots?

The helix Mega units have 2 card slots. When taking screen shots is there a way to designate which card the screen shots will be stored in? One slot of mine is used for map card and other I put a blank card in. I haven’t seen any instructions on this so maybe I am overlooking it in the manuals???”

It doesn't matter. The unit will read whatever the card is in either slot.

It's a good idea to lock the slide switch on the map card to eliminate the possibility of writing ScreenShots to the map card ...

While it shouldn't hurt anything to write ScreenShots to the map card - it's still a good practice not to ...

Now why didn’t I think of that? That’s what I was trying to keep from doing of having screen shots stored in map card and channeling screen shots to a empty card. Thanks Rickie!

Rickie, Cevans .... I thought "map cards" were "Read Only" and therefore could not be written to ?? And blank SD cards were "read/write" cards and could be written to and then read from ??

There is a slide switch in the side of an Secure Digital Card and it can be set to locked or unlocked. Check the left side of the card as you look at the face of the card and you will find the lock/unlock slider switch. I think that it's unlocked when it's in the locked position.

I been wondering about the switch if the card could be read while locked.... My Trail Camera book says the switch has to be unlocked for the camera to record screen shots... I think the next time I bring the card to the Pudder I will put the switch on Lock to see what happens

I have screen shots recorded on map card when I have my Navionics and Lakemaster both loaded occassionally. But even with a blank card loaded in one slot, and the map card in other slot, the depth finder chooses where to load the screen shot. I never considered locking the Navionics Card and will do so. My Lakemaster cards are 8 gb each with individual lakes as I only have 4 lakes on four cards for Indiana that I fish so no worry filling them up with screen shots. I have always wondered why Humminbird and the other manufacturers haven’t programmed in their fish finders when you are offered 2 slots for the cards as to why you can’t choose which to have your screen shots saved to?

Solix and Onix have the best method. Screen shots are saved to the units memory, no card needed. When you get home put the sd card in and copy them to the blank sd card.
