Guntersville! No sir not mill foil! I’m just a poor pics taker with my phone and haven’t learned how to take pics with unit and transfer yet! The last pic is same as the first just a little better pic!

Mitch, it may be yellow bass. I found HUGE schools of them yesterday at South Sauty and they looked very similar. Specks too big to be bait and way too small to be crappie. I think I could have caught 1000 of them if I had tried.

I throwed a jig into them but no bites ! I thought that they were kinda too big to be bait and figured they were stripe also but no bites several bumps where I could feel my jig bumping into them. More bait this year than I’ve ever seen! I thought for a bit that I was on Kentucky lake! I sure hope that’s shad we’re seeing no baby Asians

I'm pretty new to fall fishing but there's 10X more baitfish than there was last year. If I had a pontoon boat I'd go catch several 1000 threadfin shad and put them in the pond behind the house. The way they were schooling at the spring creek bridge the other evening I figure I could have easily caught 1000 per throw with a 6 foot cast net.

I saw several schools like the first picture you posted yesterday. I also didn't get any bites, then about 11:30-12:30 we caught a whole lot of fish. About half and half white and yellow bass.

We have shad that will school like that in the fall, the best way I have learned to fish them is jig below the bait ball to the bottom. Fish will be there waiting for sick and dying shad.
Thanks Slabprowler thanked you for this post
