Default Mega owners need your input

Was looking to upgrade to a Mega SI g2n unit with the deals coming out. I can get a 10" for about 1200 and found a 12" for 1800 or do I just wait for the g3n in 10" for 2000?? Are you guys happy g2n or will you want to upgrade to g3n. My only interest in Mega+ g3n would be 20% clearer pics on top of how clear the Mega already is.

I’m perfectly happy with my Mega 10 si. I bought it when my 899 si bit the dust. I’m not one that likes to buy the older tech if the new one is out....on any electronics. Many like to wait for the new to come out so they can get the older model at a good deal.....nothing wrong with either position. If I didn’t already have a working Mega unit I would go for the later model. I have seen the videos and it does have a clearer image.....but I have to say any Mega I’ve seen has a great image.

I am not sure how much improved the image clarity will improve but the range for the mega will be extended 200' instead of the current 125' . I think the real improvemet of the mega + units will be the improved 2d with the low q dual spectrum transducers. The new transducer will be compatible with the new Gen 3 series and come in different applications from transom mount to shoot thru

Is this the same transducer that is integrated into the latest Minnkota trolling motors?

    I’m with Alpha Hawk.
My first gen Solix is so clear I will not upgrade.
Swamp it would be good if you could just take a trip with someone that has one.
    Sure you already knew that.
FF have gotten so good in general, image wise, that it’s astounding.
I may, have upgraded to the new TD if that had been an option.
However since that’s not an option I am a little ticked at HB.

Yeah Redge, went with buddy this summer who has 9" Mega and was impressed with clearity and also having true DI. But the claim is 20% clearer with g3n models. What about this thought and I'm only talking clearity. I believe on g2n models as you went up in size you got more screen pixels giving better definition so could it be that a 12" Mega g2n could have just as good definition as a 10" Mega+ g3n??????
Thanks Redge thanked you for this post

First let me say I love my Helix 10 Mega SI g2n. Best SI out there but I think the 2d and di could be better. I also have a Helix 12 Mega DI unit. Love it, best 2d and di images I have seen. A friend bought a Helix 12 SI for me to compare, yes it does give a better image than my 10. I would like to upgrade to the Mega+ unit just to improve my 2d and di images but the 12 inch unit plays a big part as well. A Helix 12 g2n SI at that price is a good deal. I'm holding out for a Helix 12 Mega+ g3n, I may be waiting for awhile

Good thinking, I don’t know the answer to that.
    Hopefully Rickie can answer that.

Curious where you are pricing the 10". I'm in the market myself.
