Cabelas has it for 1400 and have 10% off club members that I would have to use tomorrow and got about 150 bucks in points. Sheels has the 12'' for 1800 which seems like heck of a deal. I'm just having a hard time trying to figure out which way I should go.

Buy two G2N 10" models that have the higher pixel count screens, use one fo just SI and the other to share DI, 2d and mapping views! Then you have bigger different multiple display images at the same time for not much more than the one larger new unit.

I like the bang for the buck mode as long as it gives me performance I am happy with, the current HB mega units are very good in my opinion to seriously consider that closeout pricing would be something I would not pass up personally.

The screen resolution on the units hasn't changed, the mega+ transducers are longer than the original mega transducers, this is what will give you the more sharper images (the longer imaging elements in the transducer)

yes, but not sure if the minn kota TM will have the mega + transducer. There is a mega di/2d transducer now that will work for helix Di/Solix mega units currently this maybe what is in the TM since the gen 2 helix DI units are compatible with the new Di trolling motors

I would go with the Helix 12 G2N for $1,800.00. I have the 9 Mega and my problem is now my screen isn't large enough to use mapping, SI, DI and 2D all on the same screen. So now I'm looking for a 7" unit just to use for the map. I'm very pleased with the clarity of the G2N Mega, not sure 20% more clarity would make much difference at all.

Thanks to all for the input! I ended up going with the 12" g2n, just thought I couldn't pass up a 12" unit. So I went to Cabela's and did the price match that Scheels had for 1800. Then I got 10% off and had 156 bucks in points, kicker was 171.84 in sales tax! Bottom line got it for 1634.25. I think I got a pretty good deal.

I have a mega 10 and a mega 12 g2n, to be honest I think you would be splitting (hairs) as they say in regards to picture quality being any better than these units. This is just my opinion but It gets to a point where you are wasting your money for details so minuet you really cant benefit from them.
These Helix mega units are more than any fisherman would ever need, UNLESS money is no problem? Then I would up date every two yrs just for bragging rights!
Find a Helix 12 mega SI on sale and grab it!!
