    Default Help

I have a new helix 12 and I run a ultera t/m and when I installed the lakemaster chip it does nothing. Do I have to get it programed by H/B or am I doing something wrong. Thanks for any help

I "think" you have to tell the unit which "map" you want to look at. Should be in your menu somewhere, then you choose the unit's base map or the chip's map.

If Rickie (rnvinc) sees this, he'll know for sure ... he's the "go to" guy for HB units.

If you need to know "right now" ... I'd download the pdf for the user manual, and look at the menu setup concerning maps. That should show you the diagram of where each category goes & what settings they cover. You may even want to print it out (if able to) and highlight certain parts of it, for a quick refresher until you have those settings & pathways memorized.

I just installed Navionics on my Helix 7 which should be the same. You may have to power up the head before you insert the map chip. Then go to your menu, go to chart tab, go to map source. Mine did not list the Navionics name so I tried Auto (I believe). It takes a minute for it to load up. If that does not work, power it off and then back on. Good luck!

If the "Chart Selection" Menu under the Chart tab is set to "Auto" - the unit should automatically detect the map card ...

A few things to try ...

*Remove the micro card from the full size SD card adapter and reinsert it right back into the adapter for a possible bad connection issue in the SD card adapter ...

*Try the micro card in a different SD card adapter (any brand - doesn't matter if it's LakeMaster) ...

*Try the map card in a different unit ...

*Try the map card in the other slot ...

*Insert a blank SD card in the unit and try to capture a ScreenShot. (Press and hold the Mark button) ... Check the Snapshot and Recording view to see if the ScreenShot was successful ...

Occasionally my map defaults to base map and I have to select it from menu options. I don't know why it reverts back...
