You can control the unit from the iPad, which is nice. Truthfully, I don’t utilize it as much as I probably should. The big reason is I have never invested in a waterproof case for my iPad. My suggestion is to contact Brian at BBG Marine. I can almost assure you of the best price, and priceless advice.

The boat its goin on has a old school sonar up front i may use once i mark a spot im sure i can see whats going on. Or buy a cheaper DI unit with a transducer up front. I really want it for side scan. Once i find a pile i can use sonar to stay on it i think haha

I have a question on the LOWRANCE 9ti elite. It has side imaging left and /or right and down. I have been using down in conjunction with my sonar to help identify fish. My question is on the side imaging. when I am looking at the side imaging chart. I have read you think about it as the line in the middle is your prop wash. Got it. now looking at my screen how is the side imagining to the left and right of the boat looked at? am I looking at it from a top view like I am flying above the boat and looking down and can see the tops of stuff to the left and right of the boat, or am I supposed to look at it as if I jump feet first right off the back of the boat and am standing under the motor on the bottom of the lake and looking to my left and my right?

The displayed SI image is in the perspective of "overhead" looking down into the water ...

Can somebody tell me where I can find, or what adapter I need to use my elite 7xi with my xi5 motorguide trolling motor transducer?

If you mean 7ti I 'think' you have to go from a 9 pin black connector to a blue 7 pin (the xi5 connection) Lowrance number 000-13313-001.
