    Default What do I get??

Ok so I am wanting to get a side image finder around the end of the year. I have a HB 859 sonar, and was hoping to be able to link it to a helix unit, but the guy at BP said that the 859 won’t link. So if it won’t link then I am either going to get two Helix 7’s and link them, or get one bigger unit for my steering wheel and still use my 859 at the bow. I guess my question would be would you get two Helix 7’s or one Helix 9 or and equivalent to it at the wheel?

yes you can link em but you will have some limitations. . Here is a pdf chart that show what frequencies will share with what units

Ok that chart is way over my head. So I could link a Helix 9 with my 859? But, the only thing I would get to transfer is the 455 sonar image? I’m guessing that I would be able to get this off of the transducer for the 9? And would the waypoints on my 859 be able to be seen on the 9 and vice versa?

you can share 2d/di/si. Will not be able to network the mega frequencies to the 859. You may have to turn chirp off on the 2d in order to share 2d, some say they have been able to network 2d chirp to a non chirp unit after a certain update. I personally have not tried to share 2d chirp to a non chirp unit so I cant say for certain

Whatever you do go with the biggest unit you can afford. The 7 inch unit is way too small in my opinion to use for side imaging.
