Have you tried both card slots? Have you tried any other map card? Could be a bad card reader

You said it works fine in your Lowrance unit. I'm not sure but don't know if they are interchangeable. Call Navionics and check to make sure that card will work with your helix unit. I know at one time with Navionics you had to buy a specific card for Lowrance.

Have you upgraded your Hummingbird 9 lately with the latest upgrade? If you did, that might be a problem the unit is freezing up as this last upgrade as created all kinds of problems for other hummingbird users and they are reverting back to installing older version of software to get everything to work. And the same goes for a lot of Lowrance users. The last upgrade given out by Lowrance has created all kinds of problems also.

If it's the micro card version might try pulling the micro card and putting it in another adapter. If that doesn't solve it then most likely a bad card

Are you giving the card time to load? When you put the card in, it make take several minutes for the Bird to load the card.
    Tell'em I'll be there.

I've just gone through something similar loading my new helix loading waypoints from the Humminbird PC program. I had to power up my Hummingbird head unit and then insert the card

yes I left it in for a good hr while out on lake fishing and it never did load.
Have left unit on and then inserted card and left in for 15 minutes or so still doesn't load.
Not sure if I will get to get out on lake anymore since I've now started deer hunting as the rut is getting close.
