    Default 3-bank charger question

I have a Guest 2613A 3-bank charger currently connected to 2 trolling motor batteries and one starter battery. Want to move trolling motor batteries up front and put on separate 2 bank charger. Will add 2nd battery in back for electronics. Can I still use the 3-back charger for just 2 batteries and leave one bank unused? Can I parallel 2 banks together?

Instruction book for my Minn Kota digital says doubling up on banks for one battery is A-ok, just not recommended to go over 20 amps on any deep cycle battery. I have a 3bank with 5amp at each bank so technically I could run all 3 to one battery. Your battery with 2 banks attached will obviously charge at a faster rate.

Lots of info here about your specific charger. Page 5 addresses your question. Hope this helps..

Duh, I read that document before posting, but missed the BOLD line saying which two outputs can be ran in parallel.
Thanks, Questions answered. Now to buy a 2-back.

lol...I can't count the times I've done the same thing or worse. Sometimes it takes the whole village to figure this stuff out. Crappie fishermen are the best at helping each other...

I actually called and talked to a DualPro engineer last year. He told me it also was perfectly safe to take one bank and tape off the individual leads on one bank and still use the other set. That as long as charger didn't sense a load it would not do anything but sit there un activated.
