    Default Transducer

I bought a new depth finder and going to move my old one ( humminbird 598) to terrova. I have read that you do not want have your depth finder on when your transducer is out of water. Is this true for the terrova with built in transducer?
If so can the 598 be put in stand by?
Life is not measured by the breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

You might be surprised of how many people leave their fish finders on 24/7. The worse that can happen is you run your battery down.

"Sonar Off" can be found under the Power button Xpress Menu (1 quick press of power button) ...

(These stock xducers do not have high enough wattage to create heat attributed xducer damage ...)

I have a bigger screen up front so I turn "sonar off" before pulling trolling motor out of water and then use the full screen map for navigation.

It’s not like it’s water cooled, it doesn’t hurt.
