Default Helix transducer mounting bracket holes

I have a Helix 9 SI Gen1 and would like to upgrade to a Gen2 Mega SI. So my question is will the holes I have drilled into my transom also work for the bracket on the new Mega Gen2 SI transducer?

Was thinking if the hole pattern is not the same instead of drilling more holes in transom I would get a transducer mounting plate.

I think a transducer mounting board would be your best choice. That way if you need to do some adjusting to the transducer it would be no problem. I take that you have a aluminum boat if so JB WELD would stop up the already made holes and if fiberglass they are several things like GOOP that will stop up holes also.

The mega bracket has 3 slots, do you have the plastic mount with two slots currently XNT 9 SI 180 T? I can go measure the centers on the slots of the mega if you can measure the centers on the one you have now.

If this is the one you currently have then looks like 5/8" from center to center of the two slots. If no one answers or you can look when you get back home I can drop my mega transducer down and see if it will match on the two existing holes you have now and all you would need to drill is a third. The outside slots on the mega bracket are wider, but possibly may be 5/8" from outside slot to the center slot. I got an insurance audit in a few minutes, but don't mind comparing after I'm done if this is the same style bracket you have now. Name: 20180920_081244.jpeg

I found out that being I had the upgrade Hi Def transducer on my Gen1 SI that even though the bracket is different on the Mega the holes will still line up so no need to have to drill new holes. Happy, Happy, Happy.

My holes were different because of height from bottom of boat . I added a plastic mounting block .
