    Default Helix 7 troubles

My front finder is a helix 7 di g2n. I have sent this particular unit in twice under warranty with different issues and now that it’s out of warranty it’s messing up again. This time it won’t read the transducer the only thing that works is the map. I called Humminbird and they said it would be a minimum of 200 bucks and the most would be 400. I might as well buy a new finder. Anybody else had an trouble with this unit?

Have you tried it on another transducer? Seems from all the reading I have done that they seem to have a multitude of problems. Have seen more guys post all over about bad transducers on the G2 units. Much more so than gen1 or legacy units.

Hey Grizz, dumb question but have you tried doing a factory reset on this unit?

    #1 Turn on unit
    #2 hit menu button twice
#3 use right arrow key to go over to setup menu at top of screen
#4 use down arrow key to go down to factory settings select that
#5 a pop up should appear asking you if this is what you want to do. Use right arrow key to select yes. That should set it back to factory settings. You should not lose any thing you have saved. Don't ask me why but sometimes this will get them back to working.

My helix 10 did that once and somehow the sonor got turned off. I’m not sure but think it was on screen with the light adjustment on it. I think I held the on off switch in for a second to get to that screen but Ricky can tell u for sure. Resetting defaults did not fix it
