Received a notice that Lowrance dropped the HDS9 Carbon by 600 bucks. This shows what a profit margin these cheese cakes make.

Ima in no rush to spend money to look at carp. My 2d finds them, and I don't have to search much or very far away from home.

There has always been a large profit margin for fishing electronics . I read once that back in the day of the first bottom flasher that it cost less than $5.00 to make and they sold for around $80.00 . Like Jerry Clowers steak house profit . Bought the steaks from his father-in -law for a dollar and sold for ten dollars and said he was grateful for the 9% profit .

I bought Humminbird 12" SI and 10" di for the same price a Lowrance Carbon 12 with 3d structure was going for a few weeks ago. Crazy.

They'll have to get a lot cheaper before I would replace my Gen2 units with Carbon units. The new units have some capabilities that mine don't have but as long as mine are still working I'll keep them.
