Default ulterra foot control when swimming

A while back I got caught in a down pour, The foot controller was in a covered bin, but the top blew off, so the controller was under water for a while.
Question is: is it worth getting it fixed or just get a new one.
Don't know the value or the minimum to have someone look at it to decide if it's even fixable.
    Any ideas out there?
    Thanks MThook

I would have thought it was water proof. It was made to use on a boat-duh!!!

Hey Grady have you tried it to see if it works or you just assuming it don't work. You should take better care of your stuff. If I used it I would just buy another one.

Don, I tried a week or so after the dip, it didn't work. Haventvtried it since ( been a year)
I never used it before so it's not real important
If I could get it working for under a $100 I'd fix it if not I'd part it out if someone needed parts

Pick up the phone Monday morning and call this man. Explain to him what you got. Bet he can tell you what you need and how to fix it. Great guy to do business with and very helpful.

I use to clean the sand out of mine by dunking it in the lake several times. Never a problem. Try it again. It should be dried out.

Probably just the shim not making contact. Theirs a guy at Lake Wylie boat sales / marina on Hwy 49. He is suppose to be trained as a Minn Kota repairman. Just thinking. It is fixable and save a few retirement $$$

Guess I need to hook up my foot pedal and see if it works. Never been hooked up. I keep it in the seat pedestal box.
