Default Anybody have low voltage problems with the Solix?

We have constant low voltage alarms with the Solix 10. We replaced the starting battery, and 3 bank battery charger just in case that was the problem. A couple months ago we bought a Solix for the console, and it constantly had low voltage alarms, even though it was fully charged. As soon as you put something else on (live well, etc) the alarm would start. Now we have one up front too and the same thing is happening. We don't even have anything else on at the same time and it happens. We could never use both of them at the same time. It happens even when nothing else is on too. Fully charged, still happens.

Any ideas as to why this is happening? Do you have to be moving when using it? Thanks.

I am not the owner of a Solix, so I am just guessing!!!!!!!

Is there a setting for the voltage readout??????
This may have to be reset to a lower voltage, example 10.5V...

I have had a Solix 12” since they first came out.
    No problems with low voltage.
Call HB they have great customer service!!
I do think you can adjust the voltage alarm, but don’t remember how.
I think the wiring could be to small..... maybe Rickie or one of the other guys will chime in.

It is recommended to install dedicated fused wiring from battery to unit ... and not use boat harness wiring, (which is usually too small with too many connections that can cause voltage drop across the entire circuit) ...

    HB recommends 14gauge - 12gauge is better - I use 6gauge to a fuse block and then 10gauge to each unit ...

There's just not that much difference in cost of increased Gauge wire for peace of mind ...

Some opt for a blade type fuse block like below if there are more than 1 unit to be utilized ...https://www.bluesea.com/products/cat...locks/ST_Blade

In either scenario - the wire circuit must be protected by fuse or circuit breaker as close to the battery as possible (according to ABYC standards https://abycinc.org/general/custom.a...=StandardsList)

The above is all good advise. As Redge said you can set the low voltage alarm on the hummingbird in the settings. I've got mine set where if it goes off I know I need to start my big motor and make a run to charge the battery. Also just because it s a new battery doesn't mean it a good battery. Have a load test done on it and make sure it will hold a load. There are a lot of new batteries that are not good batteries. My 998 does the same thing with a optima yellow top battery but I know I have a bad cell. It will start the boat and does fine tell I turn on SI/sonar on the 998 without the big motor running. I've talked to a lot of people that are going to a separate battery for their sonar to prevent voltage drop and to protect the sonar units and also help reduce with RF interference. Electricity is always a mystery, good luck and let us know what you find out.

If your actually experimcing a low voltage problem that's causing units to shut down follow Rickies post and others on wiring and size. If your just getting a low voltage alarm or warning, go in to menu twice, go to alarm, scroll down to voltage alarm and set it to 10.5 volts. That should be low enough to keep it from alarming but still give you plenty of voltage to crank motor .

One more note, all my FF and HB equipment is on a single dedicated battery, nothing else on the circuit.
Solix 12”, 1198, 360, Ethernet switch, nema 2000 is also on that circuit.

Thank you very much. Will try upping the wire size first. Will report back to see if that works!

I wish we had room for another battery, everything is on the starting battery. We have two other batteries for trolling matter and out of room.
