Do you have anything on,the left side of the transducer like your lower unit of the motor if the transducer is mounted on,the back of the boat? Where is the transducer mounted? You had better pics on 2/4, have you moved it since then?

I haven't changed the transducer location. I posted pics last week of how/where it is mounted.

The only difference from the pics on 2/4 is I turned off all Chirp and then turned it back on and the left side was dark. Before I did that, I was having problems with the right side being dark. I have sent pics to HB, and they told me to decrease the range on SI to 30' to correct the dark right side. I thought that answer was pretty absurd, so I asked Ricky for help, and that's why I posted all of those pics- Ricky asked me to take pics with all Chirp off and then pics with it back on.

I sent HB an email today demanding they send me a new unit. I've owned several HB's, but never have had a problem like this before. With a unit that is.

    Thanks for the help!

So to start with, the best thing to do is call Humminbird customer service while you're on the boat. A lot of issues are caused by incorrect installation, changed settings, or user errors and sometimes can be resolved with a phone call. If that doesn't work, you should ask for a call tag to send the unit and transducer back for repair or replacement.

From the looks of your pics my first guess would be an obstruction on the left side of your transducer. If that's not the case your transducer may be malfunction either because it is damaged or defective. Finally, if that's not the case, it could be the head unit.

Remove the xducer from its current mounting and temporarily mount the xducer to an "extension" of sorts ... to stick the xducer farther down in the water to test if there is obstruction from the boat ...

This is the most definitive way to verify for obstruction possibilities ...

I still say it could me your motor or some other object partially blocking your transducer. Do what Rickie suggest and then post some more follow up phots.
