I was recently out playing with Helix 7 SI and had a question. I understand how as the water gets deeper the water column will take up more of the screen on the SI display. I was recently fishing in around 60 ft of water and the water column was 90% of the screen. Is there a way to adjust this and make the bottom area bigger? Reduce the size of the column? Thanks

There is Contour Mode On in the SI Enhance Menu that shuts off the water column completely ...

Another trick is to set the SI image to one side only and increase SI range (kinda hinders if what you might want to see on the other side tho) ...
The new software versions have a new View called "Side/Side Combo" which shows a split screen one on top of the other with left SI in the top pane and right SI in the bottom pane ... This view choice with a wider SI range in deeper water could be beneficial ...

one other tip would be to set your si range to 3x the depth. But you will also need to increase your sensitivity as well
Rickie,
I really love the side/side combo view on my new Helix 10 Mega. It is like looking at a 20" screen once you get used to looking at it. Are you saying with the latest software updates that I could get this view on older units like a 1199 or gen1 Helix? Please say yes!
Thanks,
Roy
