I always thought it was for 2D only.
I read recently on another site that when switching between the 2 modes it not only affected the 2D but also SI and/or DI returns. I thought it was just for the standard 2D.
I played with it some tonight on a couple of recordings I did the other night and did not seem to see any difference.
Has anyone else played around with this to see if it's true?
Yes, I was talking to myself; sometimes even I have to ask for expert advice.

The new mega SI units have a separate setting for Max/clear for SI.....2D and SI each have their own setting..... is it possible that is what you saw?

Looking for the one that makes it all worthwhile.
BobB, good catch, it was indeed a post about a mega unit that listed that option. I guess with my 1st generation Helix 10 the switchfire is 2D only then?
I do use it both ways as needed in the 2D. It wasn't until today when I read the other post that I saw it mentioned for SI.

Version 1.35 added Imaging Switchfire for Helix models. It is only an On/Off option. But the OP's question regarding Switchfire Clear and Max modes only affects 2D.
