Default Help with a humminbird piranha max4

I installed my FF this afternoon and tried it out this evening, to start with it was showing a lot of noise right by the surface but the longer I was out the more cluttered the screen got. I turned the sensitivity down some, but still had a lot of noise between the surface and the bottom. Any ideas. I will get a picture of the mount on the transducer tomorrow. but here is the screen.

This was all while just using the trolling motor. Don't have my outboard running yet.

Are you running the trolling motor and the FF/DF on the same battery? If so, that is likely where your noise is coming from. I have a 7AH Gel Cell on which I run my DF/FFs. It will run either of my finders all day without a recharge.

yes both are on the same battery. but the noise was there even when the TM was off. i may try to run power directly from the battery and bypass the power distribution panel i have. i will also try using a different battery. thanks
