    Default Humminbird depth offset

I have a Helix 12 at the bow, using the us2 ducer on the trolling motor but the depth is off by 3 feet or so due to the length of the shaft as I run it most of the way down and its a 60 inch shaft. How do I adjust it so the depth reads right?

On Lowrance, you adjust the keel offset. To do this example, you would enter +3.0 ft in the appropriate box and screen. I would think the birds would be the same John.

I looked but didn't find it, knew we could do it on Lowrance as I have done that in the past. Would be handy if I could figure it out.

It can be changed. 1. main menu (advance user mode) press menu key twice. then select the setup tab. select one of the following menus. depth offset temp. offset or speed calibration. use the right and left cursor keys to adjust the offset. this can be found in the Humminbird manuals found on there website under support manuals it is on page 216 helix 12 chirp mega SI G2N

After the "Depth Offset" (under the Setup tab) is adjusted to get actual water depth from the surface instead of the from the xducer ... :

*Orient the boat in the water on a "certain contour" on the LakeMaster map ...
*Adjust "Water Level Offset" (under the Chart tab) to match the spot sounding depth on the map contour line to the actual digital water depth displayed ...

Now, the map contour depths will actually concur with the real water depth ...

This will need to be done each time the lake changes water level ...

I kinda wish they both were together in the same place also ...

It would save a lot of button presses ...
