    Default Lakemaster card

Ok ive jumped the gun and bought a lakemaster card for the lake i fish the most. After some research ive read that when you get the lakemaster card there are no updates, what you buy is what you get. Does anyone know if this is true, or will they do updates on these cards. Did I mess up . What do yall think. Thanks . I hope Greg or Rickie can chime in on the future of these cards

There are no updates to the LakeMaster region cards ...

New versions are released each year ...which add lakes that were not in the previous version - or may add 1ft contours where 3-10ft contours may have been in the previous version ...

LakeMaster doesn't have the community edits to continually upgrade existing contours as time passes with update-able cards like Navionics ...

If your lake on the LakeMaster card is already listed as Bold* LakeMaster High Definition Survey 1ft contours - that's the best that lake will ever get ...

You can check if your lake is Bold* LakeMaster High Definition Survey here ...

I believe you can buy updates by Lake. Not sure how that works. Maybe Rickie can elaborate?

It is possible to buy individual lakes thru the ChartSelect program... but I don't know if there's any way to discern if the contour data would be any different than the region card contour data before purchase ...

Example I'm not sure about ...:

*LakeMaster region card version "x" is released in March ... With Lake "Y" showing 10ft contours...
*Lake "Y" is LakeMaster surveyed in June of same year ...
*ChartSelect map of Lake "Y" is purchased in September of same year ...

I do not know if that ChartSelect purchase would be the older data or the newest surveyed data ...

If I remember correctly when you go to buy the map and overlays for a lake in chart select it gives you the year of the survey data. Example. 2015 Lake of the Ozark HD contours

Anyway to tell which lake survey data was used on the region card? For example: If you bought the card in 2016, it may or may not have that 2015 data on it. When was the card manufactured, 2015 prior to the new data becoming available, or after the new data was available? Anyway to tell which data was used on the region card? Pretty sure the lake list is just a list of lakes, doesn't specify the year the data was gathered. Maybe that detail is included in the chart select details?

Not sure how to tell on the region cards. I don't own one because so far I only fish one lake that is mapped. Maybe you can call them and ask.
